The Tate Modern, an incredible former power station turned modern art gallery is an iconic building set on London's Southbank. The Turbine Hall, the largest event space within the building is a majestic and grand space to host an event. With it's towering 26m high ceilings, the space is huge accommodating up to 700 for a dinner and 1200 for a standing reception. The space benefits from the Bridge, one level up yet still connected to the main space via a staircase, which allows for receptions to be hosted here before dinner. Being able to view the main space from up on the bridge is incredible and allows two very different aspects to the event which we find that guests really enjoy. Absolutely a space to use if you're looking to make an impact - the entrance sees your guests walking down the 13m wide ramp down to the main space - such an impactful arrival. The ramp is also the perfect spot to include styling to make an impact. See an example of when we lined this walkways with giant gold and black orbs HERE.

Beyond the Turbine Hall, the second largest space within the building is the Tanks. The tanks historically held the oil that powered the oil station and between them held 50 million litres of oil! The spaces span 28 metres across and over 7 metres high and have a moody and dramatic feel to them. beyond the Tanks and the Turbine Hall, there are 10 additional event spaces within the venue. There is a beautiful top floor restaurant which works so well for dinners and receptions, an auditorium and a number of other flexible event spaces, lots of which benefit from incredible views over London and the River Thames.
If you're looking for a very British space, this venue is perfect. The architect for the space, Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, designed the famous red telephone box as well as fellow power station Battersea. We often find that clients ask us for spaces with impact, that really draw guests in and we absolutely recommend a unique venue like the Tate Modern for that.
